In Franconia, they say that in addition to
the four elements of water, fire,
air and earth, there is a fifth: beer.
Our beer used to be brewed in the old brewery in Willersdorf, which has since been converted into our restaurant. The old brewing kettle and the beer pump are still preserved in their original form and can still be seen at our place today.
Today, Rittmayer Kellerbier is brewed by the Lieberth brewery in Hallerndorf. Master brewer Christian Volkmuth still brews it there according to our original recipe. After the main fermentation, the beer comes to Willersdorf and is stored - as it has been for centuries - in our old sandstone vaulted cellar. After maturing, we tap it directly from the storage tank.
Rittmayer Kellerbier is a very speciality. It is light, naturally cloudy, spicy and hoppy. And it is a rarity, because it is only served in our country inn. All other Rittmayer beers are sourced from the Rittmayer brewery in Hallerndorf.
Sometimes we Franks prefer to take our cereals and fruit in liquid form. Especially when it tastes so good. Our Kellerbier has been brewed according to our original recipe for centuries and is a regional speciality. We source our schnapps from distilleries in the region.
